Decatur re-posts school positions

Superintendent Sam Houston told the Decatur school board Thursday that it is changing two vacant positions from supervisor to coordinator jobs. A supervisor is the third-highest position on the school system's salary schedule while a coordinator is the fourth. Any savings in the changes would depend on the job experience of the people hired.

Tom Maynor was a supervisor of the Decatur High Developmental Program before his May retirement. The coordinator will answer to Supervisor of Special Education Stefanie Underwood.

Bob Cameron recently retired as supervisor of pupil-personnel services and principal of the Centers for Alternatives to Suspensions and Expulsions. This position becomes a coordinator position operating under Phil Hastings, supervisor for safety and alternative education.
