A woman wanted on charges of auto theft is believed to be living in the Decatur area, police said Tuesday.

Huntsville International Airport police said Vanessa Ford, 34, stole a car from the Avis Rent-A-Car at Huntsville airport, where she used to work.

Airport police officer Herman Davis said police used OnStar to recover the missing Buick Lucerne from Ford's new workplace, Hyosung.

"When Decatur (police) went over to search for the rental car, she ran out the back door of Hyosung and hasn't been seen since.

"She has not been back to work," Davis said.

"Her last known address was at 307 Brookhaven St. (S.W.), but she is not living there now. We know she lives in Decatur," he said.

Davis said he has obtained an arrest warrant for Davis and would appreciate help finding her.

Anyone with information can contact Huntsville police dispatch at 722-7100.
