Trinity approves water rate increase

TRINITY — As expected, the Trinity Town Council on Monday approved an ordinance increasing water rates and meter tap fees, effective Aug. 1. The vote was 4-0 with two councilmen absent.

Trinity’s minimum residential and commercial water rates will increase by $1.27. The minimum cost for residential water for the first 2,500 gallons will go from $9.73 to $11. The minimum cost for commercial for the first 3,000 gallons will rise from $13 to $14.27.The cost for a 5/8-inch and 3/4-inch meter will go from $350 to $550. A 1-inch meter will go from $400 to $750.
