MOULTON — The Lawrence County Sheriff's Department arrested a Moulton man Monday after finding 145 images of child pornography in his home, said Investigator Lt. Tim McWhorter.
Stephen Elliott Dee Garrison, 38, of 20679 Alabama 33 remained in the Lawrence County Jail on Tuesday. His bond had not been set.
McWhorter said a concerned resident told the Sheriff's Department that Garrison had inappropriate pictures of young children in his home and later gave the department a compact disc containing some of the images.
During a search of Garrison's bedroom, officers found more discs, mostly containing pictures of children who appeared to be between the ages of 3 and 15, he said.
Garrison did not have a criminal history of child pornography, and it did not appear that he had produced any of the photos himself, said McWhorter.
"We also have no evidence that the images are of local children," he said. "We still have numerous items to review. The investigation is ongoing."
Garrison is not married and lived with family members. There were no children living in the home, said McWhorter.
