Decatur Utilities to relocate 10 poles

Ten utility poles stand in the way of the city's widening of Sandlin Road Southwest.

On Wednesday the Decatur Utilities board approved the cost of relocating the poles.

Dan Gibbs, DU electric manager, expects the relocation to begin in the upcoming weeks. He says the project will take about 10 days. Board Chairman Neal Holland advised Gibbs to complete the project within the next 30 days before private schools begin their 2007-08 year.
