Jack Wallace, ex-governorís brother, dies
MONTGOMERY (AP) — Retired Barbour County Circuit Judge Jack Wallace, the brother of four-time Alabama Gov. George Wallace, died Monday after suffering a stroke in May. He was 84.
Wallace lived most of his life in Clayton and served from 1958 to 1986 as circuit judge in Barbour County. He later practiced law in Eufaula. Wallace was an adviser in George Wallaceís campaigns for governor and his unsuccessful campaigns for president.
He administered the oath of office to George Wallace at his four inaugurations as governor and also administered the oath twice to the former governorís son, George Wallace Jr., when he took office for two terms as public service commissioner.
