Assistant principal from Tanner to run Reid Elementary

ATHENS — An assistant principal will take over Reid Elementary.

On Monday, the Limestone County Board of Education approved hiring Casey Lewis, assistant at Tanner High School.

Lewis is replacing Henry White, who retired after voters elected him to the state Legislature. Lewis has been at Tanner for two years and was a special education teacher at Lee High School prior to that. He is originally from Dallas.

He will begin his duties as principal Tuesday. Reid is a kindergarten-through-fifth-grade school in the Reid community southwest of Athens and a feeder school for Tanner.
