Daikin donates to Carnegie

David Naito, right, retired president of Daikin America, donated two paintings to the Carnegie Visual Arts Center on Tuesday.

Carnegie Executive Director Laura Phillips, left, accepted the artwork. Naito painted both pieces, Pumpkins and Water Pitcher, and they were shipped to the United States for the presentation.

Daikinís involvement in the Carnegie Visual Arts Center began in 1998 when the corporation made the first contribution to the capital campaign to renovate the former Carnegie Library. Naitoís paintings will be displayed throughout July.

He served as president of Daikin from 1992 to 98.
