Petco reptile show and sale

Petco at 1605 Beltline Road S.W. will host the River
City Reptile Show and Sale
on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Families and children will be able to pose for photographs with large sulcata tortoises from Mama's Turtle and Tortoise Haven Rescue. The sale of reptiles will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call 350-2473.

VWs, other bugs head to wave pool

The North Alabama Volkswagen Club presents "Bug'n
in July" car show this weekend at the Point Mallard Expo Center.

The two-day event benefits Crisis Services of North Alabama.

The show begins at 8 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. It ends Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Taking the beetle theme one step further, Point Mallard has added bug events Saturday at the J. Gilmer Blackburn Aquatic Center.

Cook's Pest Control will offer a free workshop at 2 p.m. with additional bug-themed games and activities throughout the day.

Priceville Junior High forum

Priceville Junior High will hold a parents forum July 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert, Penn and Meyers Gymnasium.

Principal Mary Speegle plans to introduce herself and the teachers to the parents, discuss her policies on discipline, attendance and other issues and answer parents' questions about the new school year.
