DU’s service manager worked way up ranks
Interim General Manager Stan Keenum began the Decatur Utilities board meeting Wednesday by introducing Anena Maxwell, DU’s new customer service manager.
A 26-year employee of DU, Maxwell worked her way up through the customer service department.
“I’ve always handled complaints,” Maxwell said. “Now I take the complaints no one else can handle and try to resolve them.”
Also at the meeting, the board:
Approved $29,400 to replace two sets of three disconnects with gang operated switches on new steel poles at Danville and Modaus roads Southwest.
Approved $14,000 to replace two 40-foot wood poles at 1402 Southfield Drive S.E.
Approved $11,300 to replace three 40-foot wood poles at 1317 Southfield Drive S.E.
Approved $72,300 to relocate and adjust water mains, valves, hydrants and meters on Sandlin Road between Clearview Street and 14th Street S.W.
Approved $38,300 to replace and adjust wastewater mains, manholes and appurtenances on Sandlin Road between Clearview Street and 14th Street S.W.
Approved $12,000 to buy and install a hydrogen sulfide analyzer.
