Mobile County girl in hospital after swing set accident

MOBILE (AP) — A South Mobile County girl remained in critical condition Wednesday after she accidentally became hung up in a swing set, authorities said.

Sheriff’s spokeswoman Kate Johnson said a helicopter airlifted Teresa Jordan, 4, to University of South Alabama Children’s & Women’s Hospital in Mobile after her 9-year-old brother found her hanging from the swing set just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Johnson said the girl’s mother was outside with her but had stepped away for a moment.

The maternal grandparents were inside the mobile home when the incident occurred in the yard outside.
