Hillsboro man linked to vehicle break-in at Point Mallard trail

Decatur police arrested a Hillsboro man Friday for allegedly breaking into a vehicle parked at the Point Mallard walking trail and then using an ATM card he got from the vehicle.

A police press release said LaShawn Patrick Moss, 28, of 1592 Lawrence County 439 is in Morgan County Jail on charges of unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle and fraudulent use of a credit card. Bond is $1,500.

The victims reported the break-in July 6, police said. They said a purse, containing an ATM card and a credit card, was missing.

The ATM card was later used at an automated teller machine in Decatur.

Investigator Chris Delgado of the Anti-Crime Unit conducted the investigation that led to Mossí arrest.
