Point Mallard Park holding model auditions for ’08 season

Point Mallard Park is looking for models for the 2008 season.

Auditions will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and Saturday inside the J. Gilmer Blackburn Aquatic Center. Anyone auditioning can choose either of those days to participate.

The event is open to all water park patrons. Regular admission prices apply to all entering the park. Potential models may be any age or size. Winners will model for a variety of Point Mallard’s 2008 advertising campaign, which includes brochures, print advertising, billboards and television commercials.

“We’re looking for real people who love to have fun, not just those who look good in photographs,” said Julianne Lowman, marketing coordinator. “Personality is very important.”

As a helpful hint, she said dozens of model hopefuls last year came too primped and starched, or had too much makeup to fit the park’s “fun in the sun” look. A few of last year’s winners came from the pool with wet hair.

The search committee will photograph all participants during their interviews. Models do not need to bring their own photos.

All ages can enter. Models under 18 must have a parent or guardian’s permission to enter. Forms are available the day of the event or downloaded from the park’s Web site www.PointMallardPark .com. Click on the Special Event’s link.
