A sport utility vehicle crashed Saturday morning on U.S. 31 near Alabama 20, injuring three occupants from Montgomery and stalling traffic for about two hours, authorities said.
Decatur police said the SUV overturned in the roadway, northbound on U.S. 31, ejecting passengers Eronica Taylor, 20, and Ebony Robinson, 20.
Police said the driver, Kenneth Aaron, 43, who was the only occupant wearing a seat belt, remained inside the vehicle.
An ambulance transported all three to Decatur General Hospital before transfer to Huntsville. Police said Taylor is 26 weeks pregnant.
A spokeswoman at Huntsville Hospital said Taylor is in critical condition in the neuro-intensive care unit and that doctors are treating Robinson in the trauma unit. She had no information on Aaron or the condition of Taylorís baby.
Police said an investigation is ongoing.
One motorist trying to leave Decatur told The Daily the wreck caused such a delay heading toward Hudson Memorial Bridge that he drove to Priceville to cross the river.
Emergency personnel from Decatur Fire and Rescue and Decatur EMS also assisted at the scene.
