Expect 100-degree weather all week

Monday's temperatures in the area could be as high as 101 degrees, and this may be the coolest day this week, according to a spokesman with the National Weather Service office in Huntsville.

"By the middle of the week, temperatures may be around 103 degrees," Kurt Weber said.

The heat index could be as high as 110 degrees, Weber said.

"We expect the heat to intensify as the week progresses," he said.

Weber said the unofficial record high for the Decatur area is 102 degrees.

A private weather service, AccuWeather.com, predicts a 104-degree high today and slightly lower temperatures through Thursday.
