Civil War music & jazz at park concert

You’ll hear music from a different century at Monday’s Paul Stroud Concerts by the River series.

Huntsville’s Olde Towne Brass will perform Civil War music on authentic Confederate brass instruments from the mid-1800s. The concert starts at 6 p.m. at Rhodes Ferry Park.

Event coordinator Vickie Allaway said the group is a favorite, and will perform dressed in Civil War attire.

Musician Reggie Jackson will perform at 7. He will play Christian and jazz music on the saxophone and piano.

Admission is free. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. For the complete schedule, visit www.decatur parks.com/eventsConcertsByTheRiver.asp. Call 341-4904 for information.
