Lawrence reviewing administratorís contract

MOULTON — The Lawrence County Commission is reviewing a contract for the county administrator who will replace Linda Harville.

Harville, who has worked for the county for more than 30 years and has served as county administrator for five years, plans to retire Oct. 1.

The commission hired Harvilleís assistant administrator, Karen Harrison, to fill the vacant position last month. Harrison started her career with the county as an accountant 27 years ago and earned her certification in county administration about 10 years ago, she said.

She has served in her current position for five years, handling accounting and grant administration.

Commissioners received copies of Harrisonís proposed contract Monday and plan to review and approve it Sept. 10.
