Jaycees announce Riverfest lineup
Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ and Cowboy Mouth to headline show

The Decatur Jaycees announced Wednesday that Riverfest will be headlined by rock acts Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ and Cowboy Mouth.

Riverfest 2007 will be Sep. 21-22 at Ingalls Harbor in Decatur.

Sep. 21 entertainment will begin at 5 p.m. with local artist Dusty French. Huntsville party band Juice will perform at 6:15. The Dave Matthews Tribute Band will take the stage at 7:45. Cowboy Mouth will bring New Orleans rock ’n’ roll to Decatur at 9:45.

Live music will start at 1 p.m. Sep. 22 with Nashville-based singer/songwriter Austin Cunningham. At 2:30, Jeff Whitlow and The Old Barn Band will take the stage. The Southern bluegrass band Rollin’ in the Hay will play at 4, followed by Tuscaloosa’s King Kotton at 6. The Paul Thorn Band, led by comedian/entertainer Paul Thorn, will perform at 7:45. Southern rockers Drivin’ n’ Cryin’ will perform at 9:30.

Riverfest, presented by Valley Budweiser Inc., is recognized as the Alabama State Barbecue Championship. More than 70 teams from across the U.S. will compete for $20,000 in cash and prizes.

Riverfest also will feature children’s activities and a variety of food vendors, with plenty of award-winning barbecue available for purchase.

Admission is $3 per person during the day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After 4 p.m., admission is $10 per adult and $5 per child.

Weekend armbands also are available for $15.

Since Riverfest began in 1994, more than $100,000 in proceeds have been given to local charitable organizations.
