Byrne selects junior college lobbyist
MONTGOMERY (AP) — Anita Archie, a former state official who has been serving as executive director of the Montgomery Housing Authority, is joining the state junior college system as director of government relations.
Chancellor Bradley Byrne announced her selection Wednesday and said she will begin work Oct. 1.
Before going to the housing authority, Archie served as executive director of the Montgomery Riverfront Development Foundation and held a variety of positions, including deputy director, at the Alabama Development Office, the state’s industrial recruitment agency.
Archie, a graduate of The University of Alabama law school, began her work with the state by writing bills for the Legislature.
