Decatur to sell 62 surplus city vehicles

The Decatur City Council approved Monday a measure to sell 62 surplus city vehicles.

Ranging in age from 10 to 25 years, the vehicles include garbage trucks and street sweepers, but most are former police cruisers.

“They’ve been cluttering up the compound on Central Avenue for quite some time,” said Mayor Don Kyle.

All will be sold to the highest bidder on www.govdeals.com, said Gail Busbey, the city’s chief financial officer.
