School board to meet Thursday

The Decatur school board will hold a called meeting and then a work session Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Compass Bank conference room.

Personnel will be the main topic of the meeting, while the work session will focus on forming a strategic plan for the school system.

Sexual abuse topic for program

A Decatur woman who has written a book about her coping with childhood sexual abuse will speak at Decatur Seventh-day Adventist Church on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The church is at 540 Beltline Road S.W.

Dana Moody of Decatur will also autograph “Secret Sins,” published through PublishAmerica. The church’s women’s ministry is the sponsor. Moody said her message is “hope and healing through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
