Governor to announce new industry in Decatur
Gov. Bob Riley will be in Decatur on Friday for an industrial announcement, although his office will not say what it is or how big it is.
The industry reportedly will be on the BP site on Finley Island Road. The governor’s announcement reportedly will not be an expansion but will involve a separate industry.
An invitation to the event states it will be a “special industry announcement” at 11 a.m. at the Sexton Building behind the Holiday Inn on the Tennessee River.
Earlier in the day, Riley will be in the parking lot at Danville Church of Christ to celebrate the final segment of four-laning for Alabama 157.
The completion of this 8-mile stretch gives motorists a four-lane highway from Interstate 65 in Cullman to the Shoals, where it links with U.S. 72 to Mississippi.
Riley will dedicate the highway at 9:30 a.m.
