Elkmont woman robbed in parking lot
By Holly Hollman hhollman@decaturdaily.com · 340-2445 ELKMONT — Limestone authorities are searching for a man who robbed a woman while she was pushing a shopping cart and holding her four-year-old's hand. Sheriff's Department Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt said the woman was in the Dollar General parking lot in Elkmont on Alabama 127 at about 4 p.m. A man with a yellow shirt wrapped around his hand indicated he had a gun and demanded her purse. "She tossed it to him and ran," McNatt said. The robber was a white male with a brown goatee and mustache. He is between 5-foot 6-inches and 5-foot 8-inches tall. He wore a red T-shirt and a red Alabama cap with white letters. The robber left going north on Alabama 127 in a 1989 or 1990 red Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with a white stripe midway on the sides. McNatt said the truck fits the description of a vehicle that left without paying for gas from a station on Boyd's Chapel Road in Ardmore on Monday. Anyone with information can call the Sheriff's Department at 232-0111.
