Police arrest man after drug raid

The execution of a search warrant led to a drug arrest of a Decatur man on Thursday.

The Decatur Police Department said its Organized Crime Unit raided 6011/2 Third Ave. S.W., and the resident attempted to run but was taken into custody. The unit searched the residence and found cocaine.

Investigator Archie Letson charged Donald Coleman Brown, 53, with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest. Brown was released from Morgan County Jail on $1,250 bond.

2 killed in wrecks in Cullman County

Two people died during the weekend in Cullman County wrecks, according to state troopers.

William Ray Young, 21, of Cordova was riding his motorcycle and died in a collision Sunday at 12:10 p.m. on Cullman County 831, 10 miles west of Cullman.

Kathy Williams, 36, of Bremen died in a wreck on Alabama 91, six miles south of Bremen, at about 4:34 p.m. on Saturday.

Her 8-year-old son, Clancy, was also injured.
