Bad-check writer roundup slated for September

Authorities will conduct a roundup of bad-check writers in September, Morgan County District Attorney Bob Burrell said Monday.

Burrell encouraged those charged with outstanding warrants with the Worthless Check and Restitution Recovery units to make arrangements to pay prior to close of business Sep. 11.

After that, anyone who has not paid in full will face arrest, Burrell said.

If you need to arrange to pay or turn yourself in, call 351-4740 and ask to speak with Investigator Bill Mauldin. Burrell also asked that anyone with information on the whereabouts of wanted individuals call that number anonymously.
