Police charge 2 with drug trafficking, seek 3rd suspect
By Seth Burkett sburkett@decaturdaily.com · 340-2355 Investigators Monday sought a third man they believe is connected to a bag of cocaine found near a vehicle wrecked during a car chase last week, Decatur police said. Detective Archie Letson said police caught two occupants of the vehicle after it wrecked at Fifth Avenue Northwest and Fourth Street on Friday. A third man fled on foot into a wooded area and eluded police, Letson said. Frankie Cornelius Pickett, 24, of 421 Sixth Ave. N.W. and Miles Percell Buford, 19, of 422 Memorial Drive N.W. each face charges of trafficking in cocaine. Pickett also faces charges of harassment and resisting arrest. Lt. Frank DeButy, a police spokesman, said investigators also obtained a warrant charging Roderick Buford, 32, of Decatur with trafficking in cocaine. No arrest had been made at press time. Letson said police found more than 28 grams of powder cocaine that had been thrown out of the vehicle after the crash. Morgan County Jail released Pickett and Miles Buford on Sunday on $3,500 and $2,500 bonds, respectively. Seth Brukett
