New community ed courses offered

Calhoun Community College will once again offer a number of community education courses through its Department of Continuing Education.

This year’s offerings include new courses in Photoshop for digital photographers, calligraphy, one-stroke decorative painting for beginners, financial basics for children, starting a pet-sitting business, upholstery and other familiar favorites.

Zaxby’s to open Monday in Athens

ATHENS — A new chicken restaurant will hatch in Athens on Labor Day.

Zaxby’s will open Monday at its French Farms Pavilion location on U.S. 72 across from Wal-Mart.

The restaurant offers chicken fingers, salads and Buffalo wings.
