Colors of football season
The colors of orange, black, crimson and white abound on T-shirts, painted bodies, caps and bandannas at Hartselle High School’s J.P. Cain Stadium on Thursday night, a sign high school football season has arrived in North Alabama. .
Hartselle’s Tigers hosted the Austin Black Bears in the traditional opener between the Morgan County rivals. .
Some of the students in the Austin section used their bodies to spell out “GO AUSTIN,” while Hartselle students Jeremy Roper and Alex Brown helped spell out the word “H-TOWN.” .
Austin won the game 14-7.. While several area teams where in action Thursday, others, including the Decatur Red Raiders, will kick off the season on Friday.
The Red Raiders will host the Huntsville Crimson Panthers Friday at Ogle Stadium.
