Local drug unit makes third arrest in undercover operation
ATHENS — The local drug unit has made a third arrest in an undercover marijuana trafficking operation.
Athens drug investigator Johnny Morell said undercover officers allegedly bought 3 pounds of marijuana from Julius Lee Redus, 27, of 12120 Page Road, Tanner.
Redus was in Limestone County Jail on Friday in lieu of $20,000 bond, charged with trafficking in marijuana.
On Tuesday night, the Limestone-Athens Drug Unit arrested Travis “Boss” Hines, 28, of George Washington Street, Tanner, and his girlfriend, Erica Renee Bass, 19, of Cloverleaf
Drive, Athens.
Sheriff Mike Blakely said undercover officers allegedly bought 10 pounds total of marijuana from Hines, and Bass allegedly participated in one of the drug buys.
Morell said Hines and Redus are friends but allegedly were operating as separate dealers.
