Authorities arrest family in drug case

MOULTON — Local authorities arrested a mother and her adult children Friday on drug charges, said Amard Martin, Lawrence County Drug/Violent Crime Task Force commander.

Authorities arrested Bobbie Jean Bush, 40, Steven Bush, 22, Cordine Bush, 24, and Takaya Burgess, 19, at the family’s home at 136 Lawrence County 525, Moulton.

All were in Lawrence County Jail on Friday in lieu of $10,000 bond each, and are charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, Martin said.

Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies and Moulton police assisted in the arrest, seizure of scales, $723 and an undetermined number of ecstasy pills, Martin said.

The family had been under investigation for about 11/2 years on suspicion of selling marijuana, ecstasy and cocaine, Martin said.
