POW/MIA Day set for Sept. 17

The Combined Patriotic Organizations of Morgan County observes its annual POW/MIA Day on Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. in Cotaco Park at the Morgan County Courthouse.

O.J. Hyde, commander of Wheeler Brown Hendrix Disabled American Veterans Chapter 11, said the event will feature a candlelight ceremony honoring prisoners of war and those missing in action. Former POW John Burnett will speak.

“The public is invited,” Hyde said. “Come and help us remember our heroes.”
