Decatur Board of Education meets
The Decatur City Board of Education will hold a called meeting and work session Thursday at 3 p.m. in the central office.
The board will hold the second of two required public budget hearings at the work session. The board will then consider the 2008 fiscal budget and capital projects at the following meeting.

Decatur Library looking for quilts
The Decatur Public Library’s annual Quilt Show will begin early this year.
Quilts will be hung Sept. 22 and will be taken down the morning of Oct. 31.
The library is looking for homemade quilts and wall hangings for the show. Quilts and wall hangings of all kinds may be shown: appliqué, pieced, embroidery and any other techniques for designing quilts. Both old and new quilts will be accepted. Machine quilting is also acceptable.
A Viewer’s Choice competition will be held and ribbons awarded to the winners. For more information and to reserve a place, call the library at 353-2993, ext. 104. Hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; and 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Morgan changes work session time
The Morgan County Board of Education moved its work session Thursday to 4:30 p.m. at the central office.
Highlights of the agenda include consideration of the 2008 fiscal budget and the five-year capital plan.
