ATHENS — While washing dishes, an Athens woman got into an argument with her boyfriend and stabbed him in the back with two steak knives, according to the Limestone Sheriff's Department.

Chief Investigator Stanley McNatt said Crystal Pickett, 25, apparently stabbed Tavaris Fullenwider, 26, at their home at 4284 Pryor Road sometime between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

McNatt said Pickett called 911 while driving Fullenwider to the hospital. Huntsville police stopped Pickett on Interstate 565 and summoned an ambulance, which took Fullenwider to Huntsville Hospital.

Investigators Jay Stinnett and Leslie Ramsey interviewed Fullenwider at the hospital, and investigator Eric King interviewed Pickett before arresting her.

Pickett is charged with second-degree domestic violence.

Limestone County Jail released Pickett on $10,000 bond. McNatt said Fullenwider stayed in the hospital overnight for treatment, but he did not think the injuries were life threatening.
