Police: Backseat burglar caught at KFC

Police found a juvenile who broke into Kentucky Fried Chicken hiding in the backseat of a vehicle behind the restaurant, Decatur police said Thursday.

Lt. Frank DeButy, a police spokesman, said officers that responded to a security alarm at 2508 Beltline Road S.W. restaurant at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday found a drive-through window open.

The officers checked out a gray Chevrolet Suburban parked at the rear of the business and discovered the juvenile, DeButy said.

DeButy said investigators charged the juvenile with third-degree burglary. He was transported to the juvenile detention center in Tuscumbia.
