Segers firetruck overturns Saturday

The main truck of Segers Volunteer Fire Department overturned on Hardiman Road in Limestone County on Saturday.

The driver, Dustin Chad Tucker, who was the only occupant, was en route at about 9:45 a.m. to offer standby emergency service for the Trail of Tears motorcycle caravan when the left rear tire caught the edge of the road and blew out, said Segers VFD President John Pritchard.

Tucker, 23, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained a minor injury to his wrist, he said.

The condition of the truck remains under evaluation, Pritchard said.

The department will accept a truck on loan from the Clements VFD until Segers has its primary truck running again.
