Police investigate 7th Ave. stabbing

Decatur police were called to investigate a stabbing Saturday night.

The incident occurred at 709 Seventh Ave. S.E. shortly after 7:30. The male victim, whom police had not identified, had several cuts to his arm and went to Decatur General Hospital.

Police said his injuries did not look serious.

The victim would not tell police how he was stabbed before going to the hospital.

An officer accompanied him to try to get more details.

Officers said the incident probably would be reported as a misdemeanor third-degree assault.
