MEETING NOTES: Decatur City Council

Decatur City Council

The Decatur City Council conducted the following business during its meeting Monday:

  • Authorized the mayor to accept a $10,000 grant, with a required $2,000 match, from the Alabama Historic Commission to conduct a study of historical sites in southwest Decatur.

  • Awarded a contract to Harris Plumbing Co. for furnishing and delivering plumbing repair and maintenance services for various city departments, $47.50 per hour and 10 percent material costs.

  • Awarded a contract to Cook’s Pest Control for furnishing and delivering pest-control services to various city departments, $10,758.

  • Awarded a contract to Ronald Terry Electric Inc. for furnishing and delivering electrical repair and maintenance services for various city departments, $29.75 per hour and 15 percent mark-up on material costs.

  • Accepted Mayor Don Kyle’s appointment of Miles Wright, an employee with Decatur Utilities, to the Housing Authority Board.
