Decatur Board of Education On Tuesday, the Decatur City Board of Education: Heard a report from Finance Director Melanie Maples that the school system had $5.2 million in revenues and $6.1 million in expenses in August, leaving $14.8 million in reserves. The Child Nutrition Program had $402,349 in revenues and $29,793 in expenses, leaving $1.7 million in reserves. Approved a $3,803 change order for additional labor, materials and equipment costs on the partial Austin High School re-roofing and Eastwood Elementary School re-roofing project. The final project cost is $507,576. Approved a resolution endorsing the changes to No Child Left Behind in the U.S. House of Representatives' House Bill 648. Approved a resolution recognizing Oct. 18 at "Lights on Afterschool!" day. Certified personnel Accepted the retirement of Alice M. Green, guidance counselor, Brookhaven Middle School. Accepted the resignation of Robin L. Coffey, physical education, Cedar Ridge Middle School. Hired Vicki Earnest, French teacher, Austin High; Kelly Waters Elmore, social studies, Austin; Kevia D.
