MEETING NOTES - Decatur-Morgan County Board of Directors

Decatur-Morgan County Board of Directors

The Decatur-Morgan County Board of Directors had its monthly meeting Wednesday. Among the items discussed:

A benchmarking trip to Tuscaloosa, attended by several Chamber members, provided ideas that might work in Decatur. A similar trip, to Greenville, S.C., is scheduled Nov. 4.

Meetings to formulate public policy goals for the Chamber will begin Oct. 25. The end result will be a statement of policy goals that the Chamber will share with legislators.

The Chamber sponsors several leadership classes. They began their sessions in recent weeks and were well attended.

Tom McDougal agreed to be chairman of next year’s Total Resource Campaign.

The Chamber will coordinate a Partners in Education breakfast Tuesday at Priceville Elementary School. Corporate partners are needed for three schools.

On Feb. 6, the Chamber will coordinate the Workforce Expo, an event designed to permit students to meet with representatives from corporations about careers. The event will be at Calhoun Community College.
