Riverfest winners

The Jiggy Piggy team won the Grand Champion award at Saturday’s 13th annual Riverfest barbecue contest in Decatur. The team won a smoker, trophy and $3,000.

The Reserve Grand Champion was Lotta Bull BBQ.

The top winners in the festival’s five categories are, from first to third place:

Sauce — Haleyville Rotary Club, Moon Shadow Smokers and Governor’s BBQ.

Chicken — Wild Bunch Butt Burners, Team Top Chick and Lotta Bull BBQ.

Pork ribs — Cool Smoke, Learn2que.com and Texas Rib Rangers.

Pork — E.J.’s Q, Governor’s BBQ and Papa J’s.

Brisket — Wizards of Que, Jiggy Piggy, and Bill and the Dixie Chick.

Ducky Derby

Rubber ducks also were part of the Riverfest fun. The Volunteer Center of Morgan County’s winners of the Ducky Derby are as follows — first special categories, then race winners from first to last:

Corporate Duck — Hellebrand Agency.

People’s Choice — NARCOG Foundation.

Decorate A Duck — Island Girl.
