In memory of his youth

Limestone County Commission Chairman David Seibert arrived at Wednesday's commission meeting to find black crape paper, a black wreath and "over the hill" paraphernalia in honor of his 60th birthday.

Employees also got him a walker so short he had to stoop to use it. Seibert said that was because of a comment Sheriff Mike Blakely said when the Ku Klux Klan got mad when Siebert wouldn't let them march at the courthouse.

"The sheriff called and claimed those Klu Kluckers told him, 'That leprechaun at the county won't give us a permit.' "
