Woman, over 70, sexually assaulted

TONEY — A stranger with a gun sexually assaulted a woman in her home Thursday, said the Madison County Sheriff's Department.

The woman, identified as being over 70 years old, was being treated at Huntsville Hospital for injuries suffered during the assault.

She described her attacker as a black male between the ages of 25 and 30, wearing a white sleeveless T-shirt, Investigator Brent Patterson said.

The man allegedly knocked at her door and then forced his way inside her home in the area of Monroe Nunley Road and Bo-Bo Section Road in the Toney community, Patterson said.

The man fled the area on foot after the assault, Patterson said.

Patterson asked anyone with information that could help identify the offender to call 772-7181.
