PRICEVILLE — Fire destroyed a container trailer here Friday afternoon at Decatur Truck and Sales Inc. at 5375 Marsha Avenue.

Salesman Dwayne Olson said a contractor had used a torch to cut the trailer apart for salvage. He said after the contractor left, sparks apparently caught dry grass nearby on fire, igniting the trailer.

"It was a trailer we once rented out but it had started leaking," Olson said. "We had it on the back side of our lot. It had wood floors and aluminum siding."

Priceville Fire Chief Charles Black said his department had three engines and a brush truck, and seven firefighters on the scene. He said Decatur Fire & Rescue responded with one fire engine and three firefighters from Station 6.

Black said the call came at 3:18 p.m. and that fire-
fighters departed less than an hour later. He said there were no injuries.
