2 shot in scuffle during robbery

Two people wound up in the hospital with gunshot wounds to their legs after a robbery went awry, the Limestone County Sheriff's Department said Friday.

One of patients was the intended victim, Brett Russell Williams, 19, of Athens. Williams remained in critical condition in surgical intensive care late Friday, a Huntsville Hospital spokeswoman said.

The other patient was a 17-year-old black male who took part in a scheme with three women to get Williams high and rob him, sheriff's investigators said.

His condition was unavailable.

Investigators arrested and charged the juvenile's alleged conspirators, Dosha Leckeece Davis, 18, of 233 Lauderdale Road 574, Rogersville; Savannah Pride, 19, of 20406 Easter Ferry Road, Elkmont; and Yamashita Patrice Mitchell, 18, of 9595 Pecan Lane, Athens, each with first-degree robbery. Each remained in Limestone County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.

A scuffle broke out between Williams and the 17-year-old, sheriff's investigators said. During the scuffle, both Williams and the juvenile were shot.

Both were taken to Athens Limestone Hospital's emergency room and later transferred to Huntsville Hospital. MedFlight took Williams; an ambulance took the juvenile.
