Moulton City Council

MOULTON — The City Council approved the following agenda items Monday:

  • Fiscal 2008 budget. The budget includes a 3 percent cost-of-living raise for city employees and a 1- percent Christmas pay adjustment.

  • Moulton Police officer Mark Richard’s resignation to join the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.

  • A resolution allowing Mayor Ray Alexander to submit an application to the Alabama Department of Emergency Management for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds to construct a community safe room adjacent to the existing Moulton City Hall building. The resolution authorizes the mayor to apply for $437,346 in Hazard Mitigation funds. The city will provide a cash match of $121,142 and in-kind site preparation work valued at $24,640, according to the resolution.
