Vacated a 10-foot by 249-foot Decatur Utilities Easement near Rhodes Ferry Park to provide more room for a 12-unit condo building being constructed by developer Britt Sexton.
Assessed $631.83 against 219 10th Ave. S.W. for cost of abatement of nuisance.
Assessed $396.92 against 417 Seventh Ave. S.W. for cost of abatement of nuisance.
Assessed $441.90 against 215 Seventh Ave. S.W. for cost of abatement of nuisance.
Assessed $530.41 against 1004 Clarkview St. S.W. for cost of abatement of nuisance.
Assessed $445.90 against 2227 Harrison St. S.E. for cost of abatement of nuisance.
Awarded a contract to TCI Tire Center for furnishing and installing tires on city
Approved a $1,500 change order to a contract with Water Brothers Contractors for the Flint Sanitary Sewer Extension Phase Seven, increasing the total cost to $158,894.38.
Approved a $630 change order to a contract with Water Brothers Contractors for the Sims Street Sewer Extension, increasing the total to $261,306.47.
Approved a $1,272.96 change order to a contract with APAC Construction for intersection improvements at U.S. 31 and Hightower Street Southeast, increasing the total cost to $61,905.45.
Approved a negative $28,057.84 change order to a contract with APAC Construction for intersection improvements at Spring Avenue, Beltline Road and Wimberly Drive, reducing the total cost to $237,535.90.
Approved a negative $4,947.97 to a contract with Brooks and Son Construction Inc. for widening Sandlin Road and sidewalks on Fifth Avenue, reducing the total cost to $567,728.53.
Updated signatories for the jail commissary account in conjunction with a host of personnel changes at the police department.
Set for Nov. 5 a request from Jallah Zaizay to enter franchise agreement with the city for Trans City Cab to operate on city streets.
Limestone County Commission
ATHENS — The Limestone County Commission took the following action Monday:
Entered into an agreement with the Alabama Department of Transportation for it to fund the installation, operation and maintenance of flashing school speed beacons on Alabama 251 at Johnson Elementary.
Entered into agreements with Top of Alabama Regional Council of Governments for $115,000 for the Area Agency on Aging; annual Alabama Cares contract for caregivers; annual Medicaid waiver contract; and senior Rx program for $21,830.
Hired Timothy Foster and Nichalos Daniel, corrections officers.
Transferred Anita Collier to real property appraiser 1.
Gave preliminary and final subdivision approval to Carriger Acres, Stinnett Hollow and Gross roads; and Arrow Head Estates, Upper Fort Hampton and Beulah roads. Gave preliminary approval to Meadow Ridge, Meadows Road; and Todd Estate, Persimmon Tree Road.
Amended the computer and network policies and procedures manual to put in safeguards.
Approved plant mixing and striping 1.55 miles of Barker Road for $92,081.
