Aderholt faces opposition in 2008 general election

FORT PAYNE (AP) — A Walker County man has announced his candidacy as a Democrat challenging Republican U.S. Rep. Robert Aderholt in Alabama's Fourth District.

Greg Warren of Nauvoo said he will be a candidate in the Democratic primary for Aderholt's seat.

"This is something we've been thinking about and planning for a number of years," Warren said. "I got to meet President Carter years ago when I was in the Navy, and that got me interested in politics."

Warren said he's currently working two jobs to fund his campaign.

Warren criticized Aderholt's decision to support the Central American Free Trade Agreement two years ago. Aderholt, who plans to seek re-election, said he's focused on Congress right now.
