Road work to begin in Athens area

ATHENS — Motorists should avoid Gray Road at Huntsville-Browns Ferry Road on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Athens-Limestone Emergency Management Agency announced that the area will undergo road construction on those days.

Public TV off air in Huntsville

An antenna failure has taken public television off the air in Huntsville.

Viewers who receive WHIQ’s analog and digital signals over the airwaves will not be able to receive it for about a week, said Kathie B. Martin, an assistant vice president of Alabama Public Television in Birmingham.

It was unclear whether any cable-TV customers would be able to watch the station. Martin said it depends on how different cable systems receive the signal.

Customers of the Charter and PCL cable systems in Decatur reported Friday that the station was out of service for them.
