Citronelle couple’s death apparent murder-suicide, police say

CITRONELLE (AP) — Police described the shooting deaths of a Citronelle couple as an apparent murder-suicide.

Citronelle Police Chief Raymond C. Reid identified the victims as Larry Lee Guy, 55, and Chelle Smith Guy, 38.

The bodies were found Friday afternoon inside their home on Centre Street.

Police said both had been shot once in the head and one gun was found at the scene.

“This is an apparent murder-suicide, but the investigation is ongoing,” Reid said.

The couple had been separated for a few months and Chelle Guy had gone to the home to deliver food, according to investigators.

It was the second fatal shooting in Citronelle in a week.
