Limestone County Commission
ATHENS — The Limestone County Commission took the following action Monday:
Approved leasing a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe from the Sheriff’s Department for $1 a year.
Contracted with the Administrative Director of Courts for court referral officer services for a reimbursable amount of $54,000.
Gave the Storytelling Festival $10,000 to advertise and promote the event slated for Oct. 26-27 on the square.
Accepted bids of $2,210, CSS, voice and data cabling, courthouse; and $119,487, Joe Money Machinery, self-propelled chip spreader.
Approved a job description for a mechanic/equipment operator III to replace the equipment operator III position in District 1; and for a grounds-keeper/campground attendant at Cowford Campground to replace the part-time grounds-keeper position.
Promoted Bryan Robinson to equipment operator II in District 4; and Bobbi Bailey to elections director/administrative assistant, probate judge’s office.
Approved Rodney Jackson’s leave without pay, Oct. 9-19, for him to attend non-work-related training.
Gave preliminary subdivision approval to Smith Place, Lot 4, Gill Crest Road; and final approval to Quail Ridge, Lewis Road, and Legacy Grove, Mooresville Road.
Set a 25-mph speed limit for Nani Drive, Wakea Drive, Mahalo Circle, Makani Lane, Lanani Drive and Kula Lane, all in Southern Breeze Subdivision; and set a 35-mph speed limit for Ed Ray Road from East Limestone Road to Wells Road.
Changed polling locations from Trinity Seventh Day Adventist Church to St. Mark Primitive Baptist Church on Sanderfer Road; and from Segers Fire Department to Lamb of God Lutheran Church on County Line Road.

Moulton City Council
MOULTON — The City Council unanimously approved the following agenda items Monday:
$3,450 for bathroom and shower renovations at the Fire Department.
$2,931.19 for firetruck equipment.
Street lights for Burch Boulevard and Free Street.
A motion to send a letter to the state Board of Examiners to allow the city’s yearly audit to be performed.
